2024 News
September 2024 - The Walpole Health Department and Walpole Prevention Coalition is awarded a federal grant of $125,000/year for five years from the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) under the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program. The DFC grant will allow Walpole to expand on existing prevention work and will allow the Walpole Health Department and Walpole Prevention Coalition to increase educational resources available to community members and families related to the health impacts of underage substance use.
2025 News
February 2025 - Walpole Health Department hired a Program Director/Program Coordinator for their DFC grant. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: programmatic oversight of the grant, coalition management, data collection and analysis, and spreading related information.
April 2025 - Walpole Health Department was approved as an official Community Naloxone Program (CNP) Affiliate through the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's Bureau of Substance Addition Services (BSAS). The CNP is designed to reduce opioid overdose deaths by increasing community access to naloxone. With Walpole now participating in this program, residents have greater access to this critical resource.
May 2025 - Walpole Prevention Coalition launched their brand-new website! We hope that this website is a useful and informative resource for our community, and we plan to update it frequently.
